Crusoe, the AI factory company, said June 9 that it has contracted 4.9 gigawatts of AI infrastructure spanning data center projects and capacity for Crusoe Cloud, its AI cloud platform. The company's total development pipeline — including contracted projects, sites under active tenant negotiation, and sites in advanced development — exceeds 40 GW.

Crusoe's contracted portfolio spans five AI data center campuses across the US. At its flagship 1.2 GW Abilene, Texas campus — purpose-built for Oracle Corp. — the first two buildings are operational and six additional buildings are under construction. The company recently broke ground on a second 900 MW campus in Abilene for Microsoft Corp. Two more large-scale campuses are under contract in Texas and a fifth in Missouri, each in various stages of site work and construction.
Vertical Integration as a Competitive Moat
Unlike traditional data center developers that treat power and construction as sequential processes, Crusoe co-develops them from the start. The company manufactures long-lead electrical components at its own facilities in Colorado, Oklahoma, and Louisiana, shipping prefabricated equipment ready for installation. This approach compresses timelines and reduces risk — a key reason hyperscalers have chosen Crusoe over competitors such as Equinix Inc. and Digital Realty Trust Inc.

Crusoe is building toward a market opportunity that McKinsey & Co. projects will require 156 GW of AI-related data center capacity by 2030 — roughly 15 times the current capacity of Northern Virginia, the world's largest data center market.
