Americas Gold and Silver Corp. (TSX: USA) (NYSE: USAS) announced a fourth major discovery at its Galena Complex, with one intercept showing silver grades of 1,392 grams per tonne over 1.9 meters.
"This is our fourth major new discovery driving significant growth in the vicinity of the recently discovered 149 Vein Complex," the company said in a news release dated April 30, 2026.
The exploration drilling, completed in the first quarter of 2026, identified up to six new high-grade veins containing silver, copper, and antimony. The discovery is located on the 4300 Level of the Galena Mine, approximately 150 meters southwest of the high-grade 149 Vein that was announced in August 2025.
The discovery continues a string of exploration successes for the company at the Idaho-based complex, potentially adding significant high-grade resources. Such discoveries are critical for extending the life of a mine and increasing the company's mineral reserves, which can in turn boost future revenue and attract investor interest.
Expanding Mineralization
The latest results build on a pattern of successful drilling that is expanding the known mineralization at the Galena Complex. The proximity of these six new veins to the 149 Vein Complex suggests a larger interconnected system, which is a positive indicator for future resource definition and mining efficiency.
The combination of high-grade silver and copper, along with antimony, adds to the potential economic value of the find. Antimony is a critical mineral used in a variety of industrial and military applications, including batteries and flame retardants, which could provide a valuable by-product revenue stream. For comparison, Centerra Gold's Mount Milligan mine benefits from by-product credits from copper and silver, which helps lower its all-in sustaining costs.
This series of discoveries by Americas Gold and Silver highlights the ongoing potential within the historic Galena Complex. The company's ability to repeatedly identify new, high-grade zones of mineralization will be a key factor for shareholders as it moves to formally define the resource.
